Writing Agile User Stories
A 59 Seconds Agile Article
This article provides an ‘Introduction to Writing Agile User Stories‘ and looks to discuss what a User Story is, the benefits of User Stories and how to write an Agile User Story.
Agile User Stories Conclusions
In summary, the essence of a User Story is to discuss the User Story with the user. A User Story tells a story, it describes how a customer/user employs a product in a simple language. Effective communication is the key for software requirements, and a User Story is the common language to build understanding between user and development team. After reading a user story, the team knows why they are building what they’re building and what value it creates.
Now that you have the why, who and how for creating an Agile User Story, it’s time to put your knowledge into practice. Don’t worry if it takes a bit for everyone on all sides of the process, to adjust. Once they get the hang of it and see how much faster this ‘agile’ approach to product development can be, they’ll jump on board and you’ll all be producing like true Agile experts!

User Stories Applied by Mike Cohn is one of our favourite books on Agile User Stories. Next Mike gives an in depth discussion of who user stories are written for and where to begin when gathering the details for them.
