Demonstrating and Validating the Sprint
A 59 Seconds Agile Article
This article provides an ‘Introduction to Successful Delivery with Scrum’ and looks to discuss the process for Demonstrating and Validating the Sprint
Successful Delivery with Scrum
Let’s look back at what we’ve discovered today about how to improve your team’s working processes. In order to deliver as many successful products as possible, each aspect of your development process can be looked at and improved.
In terms of tools, make sure that you have the right tools for the job and that your team is respecting the timebox.
In terms of people, help your team find great collaboration, practice clear visualization, and be self-organizing.
In terms of mindsets, make sure that your team is practicing empiricism, maximizing the product value, and learning from any failures that occur.
Development, like anything else, improves when it’s approached with the right mindset. If your team is given the tools and framework they need to begin the project, then the team is ready to tackle any problems that come up, and they’ll be more likely to overcome obstacles and deliver a valuable product.
Changing how your team works can be the most important factor in their success. By taking advantage of any development aspect you can and using it to improve your chances of success, your team will be protecting themselves from outside risk and unforeseen problems. They’ll feel more capable and prepared to create valuable products.
In your current traditional framework of development, your team is starting the project at a disadvantage. By following the agile values and principles, your team will have the support they need to succeed in their development. The values and principles will allow them to deliver even more successful, valuable products to their customers.

User Stories Applied
A 59 Seconds Agile Book Review
User Stories Applied by Mike Cohn is one of our favourite books on Agile User Stories. The book starts with an overview into user stories, and details what a user story is and the different aspects of them. He then discusses how to go about writing a user story, and provides details of the INVEST criteria that can be used to determine if the story is meeting all of its objectives. Next Mike gives an in depth discussion of who user stories are written for and where to begin when gathering the details for them. The book then discusses acceptance testing user stories, including how to go about specifying these criteria and the responsibilities of the development team and customers during this process.
