A 59 Seconds Agile Article
This article provides an ‘Introduction to The Agile Declaration of Interdependence’ and looks to discuss the Key points within the Agile document.
The Declaration of Interdependence
Right now, you’re stuck in a management system that doesn’t allow for change and growth. None of the members of your team are being allowed to work to their full potential, and as a result, your customers are receiving a sub-par product. Unless you do something about it, your company will continue to produce projects that don’t meet their full potential.
The teams at your company won’t feel fulfilled with their work, and they won’t take full ownership of their products. By adopting aspects of agile project management, you can encourage your teams to take ownership of their work and increase the return of investment for your stakeholders.
Now, this is a tall order; changing how projects are managed at your company is no small task. Luckily, there’s an easy starting point for you: the Declaration of Interdependence.
The Declaration of Interdependence is a document that discusses how the core principles in agile project management can be applied to the management of agile teams, particularly in terms of the product owners. User Stories Applied
A 59 Seconds Agile Book Review
User Stories Applied by Mike Cohn is one of our favourite books on Agile User Stories. The book starts with an overview into user stories, and details what a user story is and the different aspects of them. He then discusses how to go about writing a user story, and provides details of the INVEST criteria that can be used to determine if the story is meeting all of its objectives. Next Mike gives an in depth discussion of who user stories are written for and where to begin when gathering the details for them. The book then discusses acceptance testing user stories, including how to go about specifying these criteria and the responsibilities of the development team and customers during this process.
